We Love Vermont

If you've ever driven south east of Kingston for about six hours, you might have reached the state of Vermont. Super liberal (home of Bernie Sanders and a vibrant local food movement) and incredibly beautiful. Viara and I took a trip to Woodstock, Vermont to visit an author she admires and to have a 36 hour vacation from every day life. While we were there, we managed to corral some unsuspecting Americans into participating in a pop-up. On a traditional covered bridge no less! It also rained 99% of the time except the two times we really needed it to stop for shoots. The rest of the time it was positively apocalyptic.

After one couple veered wildly away from me (Viara says the way I was holding the folder with our photo releases, I looked like a religious canvasser), we talked to a lovely couple from Chicago, who were there for a wedding.

What a fancy story they had: He is originally from Spain and is a violinist in a symphony orchestra and also plays in the operatic orchestra as well. She is a doctor specializing in endocrinology who loves the opera. They met at a gala benefit for the opera and the rest is history. After we chatted for a while, they went for a hike, their wedding, and their red-eye home that night. We Love Vermont.

Edited by Viara to add: You can read my blog & see photos of Sarina Bowen, a contemporary romance writer who knows how to craft a great hockey romance. But her best books, in my opinion are all about Vermont, and lots and lots of skiing, snowboarding, and SNOW!
